Indole-3-Acetic Acid is an organic matter. The pure product is a colorless leaf crystal or a crystalline powder. It becomes rosy after being exposed to light. Mp 165-166 ° C (168-170 ° C). Soluble in anhydrous ethanol, ethyl acetate, dichloroethane, soluble in ether and acetone. Insoluble in benzene, toluene, gasoline and chloroform.
